I created FireLookout.ca out of a love for the quiet, forgotten corners of Canada — the towers that once watched over our forests, the cabins long reclaimed by nature, and the people who spent their days scanning the horizon for smoke. These places hold stories worth remembering, and this project is my way of keeping them alive.

FireLookout.ca isn’t a business — it’s a living archive built by the community. Every submission, photo, and bit of history shared here helps preserve something that might otherwise fade away. My hope is that this site inspires people to explore, document, and care about the land the way lookouts once did — with patience, respect, and a deep sense of responsibility to what’s around us.
