My partner and I had 5 days off and planned a large route to drive out and get eyes on several towers to try and confirm whether they are still standing or not. We drove from Thunder Bay to Wawa on Saturday, spent the night (after bushwhacking to Catfish Lake tower) and on Sunday made our way along hwy 101 towards Timmins. Along that route we drove to the site of the Foleyet tower. The road had some recent snow base, and overall was fine to drive. There were a couple of spots where beaver dams were causing some water to stream across, but was able to pass in my Subaru Forester just fine. Near the tower location there is a fork in the road where we parked. No tower was visible. I flew my drone and survey the entire summit area where it used to be located, and could not see any sign of a tower. It would be nice to hike up there in the summer and see if any artifacts remain on site, but we had more towers to get to so we hit the road. The photo included here is of the top of the mountain where the tower should have been clearly visible if still standing.
